He went on to say that leadership styles are based on:
a) Individual characteristics (values, principles, personality)
b) Styles one has seen and experienced to make.
c) Prices are promoted by the individual organization as appropriate
to manage things.
d) A specific management attitude and the people with whom each person interacts most.
Old Leadership Styles
Kurt Lewin and his fellow researchers conducted the first major study of leadership styles in
1939. They form a leadership framework based on three different leadership styles.
This initial research is still valid.
1. Independently or by authorization
A leader tells his staff what he wants done and how it should be done
accomplished; the volume leader does not take their advice on the matter. MGMT623 MIDTERM SOLVED PAPERS MEGA FILE
2. Democracy or Participation
A leader includes one or more employees in a decision-making process, however
retains the authority to make final decisions.
3. Laissez Fair or Delegative
The leader allows free governance for employees and allows them to make decisions, however
the leader is still facing decisions being made.
