Eligibility Criteria For Internship Program:

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements to apply for the program: Government Of Japan Internship Program For Foreigners.

  • Agreeing with the purpose of this program and willing to cooperate with Japanese enterprises to promote the internationalization and development of overseas business and to build networks with overseas universities, etc.
  • Hold citizenship of an eligible country or region (nationality of OECD countries that are on the DAC list (excluding China)).
  • The possibility to work as an intern 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, from Monday to Friday at an agreed place, in the case of Course-A at a designated workplace.
  • Knowledge of Japanese (JLPT level N3 or higher) and/or English (business level).
  • The following documents can be submitted:
      • For university or graduate school students: a letter of recommendation from his/her academic advisor
      • For graduates: university or graduate school graduation certificate
  • Ability to submit a certificate of useful qualification for internship (if applicable)
  • Ability to attend pre- and post-orientation
  • Ability to follow ICU office and host company guidelines.
  • Ability to participate in the internship in accordance with the schedule determined by the program office.
  • Fulfillment of any other individual conditions required by each company.
  • You did not participate in this program from FY2016 through FY2021.
